    Metal Processing

Saint-Gobain is the world's largest producer of Boron Nitride materials for high temperature metals applications.  Boron Nitride is a refractory ceramic with low expansion and  high thermal conductivity, making it the ideal choice where thermal shock and resistance to molten metals are critical.  Its machinability makes threads, small holes and fine detail very easy to design with precision and tight tolerance.

Combat® Boron Nitride Machinable Ceramic Component, Grades ZSBN, AX05, and HP are all currently being used for powder metal nozzles.  All grades offer excellent thermal shock resistance and are non-wet by molten metals.   Many specialty metal alloys can have their specific particle size distributions designed and controlled to increase yield from the first cast.
