    Automotive Applications

Automotive windscreens of side windows are manufactured by using fibre glass mesh or steel mesh in the glass forming process. This high temperature process heavily relies on reliable lubrication and release agent to avoid the hot glass, as well as enamel color applied to the glass edges, from sticking and burning onto its support (mesh). At the same time, a high degree of accuracy of the curvature has to be maintained.

Combat® BN coatings from Saint-Gobain offer an ideal lubrication and release solution for the automotive glass industry. With their high temperature resistance and inert nature when in contact in glass, Combat coatings prevent adhesion of the mesh to the glass and to the applied enamel color.
