Combat® Boron Nitride Solids
Molten Metal Nozzles
Saint-Gobain Advanced Ceramics is the world's largest producer of Boron Nitride solid materials for high temperature metals applications. Boron Nitride is an inert ceramic material with exceptional lubricity and high thermal conductivity making it the ideal choice where thermal shock and resistance to molten metals is critical. Its machinability makes threads, small holes and fine detail very easy to design in.
There are three materials offered for powder metal nozzles. All grades offer excellent thermal shock resistance and are non-wet by molten metals. Not recommended for use with molten beryllium, nickel, platinum or uranium or with the oxides of antimony, bismuth, copper or lead.
